CLASS: african dance + drum

Seacoast West African Dance and Drum are hosting plenty of treats at the Kittery Dance Hall this spring.
On Saturday, April 6 there will be drum and dance classes with Ismael Bangoura and Sidiki Sylla (from  Vermont’s Jeh Kulu Dance and Drum Theater). From 1:00 to 2:30pm is the drum class, from 2:45 to 4:15pm is the dance class. $15.00 per class. To whet your appetite, check out these videos of past workshops.
On Sunday, May 5, Abdoulaye Sylla will be teaching a traditional style dance class as well as a dundun dance class.
Additionally, Seacoast West African Dance and Drum offers weekly classes:
  • Beginner West African Dance with Liz Fowler-Camara: Mondays,  6:30-7:30pm, $10 per class or $36 for four classes
  • Drop-in West African Drum with Namory Keita: Thursdays, 5:00-6:00pm, $10 per class
  • Drop-in West African Dance with Liz Fowler-Camara: Thursdays, 6:00-7:30pm, $12 per class or $80 for eight pre-paid classes (to be used within twelve weeks)
